I have a chinese stress ball stuck in my drain. HeLp Me!?
My son got in the bath tub with one of those chimey chinese stress balls. It is metal and the perfect size to fit our drain with NO give. He pulled the plug and I heard a zzzziiiiiipppp and it created a vacuum seal that left me soaking the water out of the tub with a towel. Any ideas to save me some cash on a plumber? This is a rent house and I cannot see how to get to the pipes.
I have one of those drains that has the X in it to prevent stuff from going down... I have tried Vacuums, denting the sides, prying it, nothing so far. There is a tiny ridge around the lip of the drain, but I am not sure if that affects the situation.
I have tried vacuums and a superdy duperdy strong magnet from my shop a the theatre I work at.
There should be some kind of access to the drain pipe.
If you don't have a basement,
there should be a closet with and an access door or something similar facing the same wall as the tub plumbing.
If not,
you'll have to go through the wall to get to the pipes and install an access door afterward.
Once you have access,
you'll want to remove the pipes to get the ball out.
When you install it again,
add a screen to the drain so it doesn't happen again.
