Pitcher vs. tap filters filters - which is better?
I am currently using the 2-Pur filter stage for pitchers and I am very satisfied with the taste and quality of the water after filtration. I do not mind the price of the filters and it works fine for me. However, my boyfriend has a problem with the frequency with which the pitcher must be filled. Also do not fill it when he does drink water so they end up having to refill it before it can have water when I get home from work. : P I guess I'm wondering if it would be worth it to switch to a faucet-mounted filter. It seems more expensive, but do not know how long would the filter. I discourage use anything besides water, but drink a lot of water. What do you think? In addition, I'll be sticking with Pur, regardless of how I leave.
.... Ok let's compare apples to apples. Faucet filters are generally smaller than pitcher filters. In this case a larger filter usually works better for the pitcher to filter better. As for the pitchers, I do not recommend anyone PUR or Brita. They look good, but it is a glorified water bottle. It uses a carbon filter Cheap like to improve the media. You have to change the filter every 2 months or risk having a mold inside. Crystal Quest pitcher has a long filter better (4 stages), and is also a Consumer Digest best buy for 2006 and 2007 (see link below). Also wins the PUR or Brita pants in the cost of operation.
