i have a 5 gallon tank with a new filter but the water always turns a light brown.?
my tank has about 15 guppies in it, a panda cat fish (small)
and a algae eater. I recently bought a new filter so i know thats not the problem. i also bought some new decorations, which i thought were discoloring and causing the water to turn this color, but when i took them out. the water still does the same thing. i went to the pet store and they gave me some drops to use but still same. every week i change half the water in tank and it is clear for about 2 days then starts to turn brown again, i feed them dried blood worms
the expensive type. but i been feeding them the same thing for the last year and this problem only started about 3 months ago so i dont think thats the problem either. Please help.
your filter needs activated carbon, place some, and it will create a biological filter.
