How presidents "disconnect" in the White House?
What I mean is: Does anyone know exactly what the process is when a President leaves and another comes in? Presidents do indeed live in the White House? Or is that just in essence a very large office, so the actual presence "simply not go to the office one day. Do you pack a box of cups, pencils, and pictures of the wife and kids and just got out of a limousine? I wonder if they have PWS (Chair Syndrome withdrawal.) What do you think?
The outgoing president is known as a "lame duck" because nobody listens to him more, hoping that the new president to come in. The new president called the president-elect, because he has been elected, but still not the president. The transition takes place between election day (November 4 this year, but always the first Tuesday after first Monday in November) and Opening Day (always January 20). During the transition, the new president meets with President Presidents old and new staff meets with the president's personal homes. The secretaries several persons be appointed meet with the outgoing and everyone learns from his new job for a couple of months. The lame-duck president is still living in the White House until the day of the inauguration. On that day, at noon, the president-elect takes office at a ceremony somewhere in Washington, but not at the White House. The lame-duck president must then leave the White House. He should be all packed up by then. Staff to reorganize the Oval Office on how the new president wants between now and when that same day (At least that's how we made a party to the West Wing). Sometimes the staff is playing tricks outgoing incoming staff as receivers hit the phones and such. There were some claims that when Bush came after Clinton, but it is difficult to know if it's true.
