Dishwasher maintenance and filter / drainage issue?
frigidaire (electrolux really) ultra-quiet model FDB126RBS1
this model of dishwasher was in the home when we purchased it. When it is run, the junk that comes off the dishes is being put back into the washer itself; the dishes are coated in grime and dirt etc,
the filter underneath the heating coil is properly in place, and I have attempted to clean the machine with both CLR during a wash cycle, and a liquid caustic to remove any blockage in the pipes. Those attempts didn't help at all, and the grit remains in the machine.
My question then becomes, what else can I do to clean this thing out and make it usuable again? is there a better filtering system, a drain plufg in the back that can be cleaned, etc?
Any advice would be appreciated
Check to see if the 1" flexible drain is looped up high in the cabinet, it needs to be higher than the sink bottom; so that the sink does not drain back to the dishwasher. Typically there is a clip screwed to the back of the cabinet to hold the hose up high.
