How come everything I have bought has had problems/defects?
my dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, and vacuum cleaner, all less than three years old, have had to be repurchased or returned be cause of a defect or poorly made. Why is this?
One of the reasons is that the manufacturing companies keep trying to cut costs to compete with lower priced products.
So instead of using decent long lasting parts in their products, they use cheap plastic. You know the results.
If you were to take a poll, on this, you will find a large percentage, have had your problem.
If you can, buy the higher priced products, it's worth it in the long run, you don't get that aggravation, you get when you buy those cheaper products.
Try the middle of the road products, they seem to last longer. If you can, before buying a new product, check out Consumer Digest, for their selections, you will at least get a good idea, of what is the best value in the product you wish to buy. Your local library, may have copies of that magazine.
As to those extended warranties, they tend to be very expensive, and then you have the problem of locating it when you need it, not always easy, and then you have to ship the product back to them for repair. Hardly worth the cost and effort.
