i have been offered a perfect condition dyson dc05 on ebay for $275 it has:

Any traditional sweeper that says it doesn't lose suction is selling you a bill of goods. Suction isn't the cleaning force, it's AIR FLOW. The best cleaner in the world is a Rainbow, hands down.
With a Rainbow there are no bags, you use water in the holding tank. Your Rainbow cleans everything including the air in the room, it's amazing to see. A Rainbow is the only cleaner Restaurants can use while open because it is the only one that doesn't throw crap in the air from the bag or canister...you know that funky smell you get when you 'vacuum'.
My suggestion is to call someone from Rainbow to come and demonstrate one in your home. See what I'm talking about but NO NOT BUY from the salesman. Most stores that sell pre-owned cleaners or repair shops have older Rainbows that you can buy for much less than the 2 thousand they cost new.
