Air Purifiers
Thank you for visiting Air Purifiers America. We provide air purifier ratings and customer reviews to help you select the best air purifier for your environment. We carry only HEPA air purifiers that do not emit or produce ozone. Beware of air purifiers that have electrostatic plates and do not need filter replacements as many of these units performed poorly both in our air purifier testing and as disclosed by Consumer Reports. Since there are many different air purifiers on the market, please check our Air Purifier Reviews for customer ratings that can guide you to making an informed decision.
Air purifiers are designed to clean the air by filtering out harmful particles and air pollutants like allergens, mold, pet dander pollution and dust. Air purifiers come in a variety of sizes and types, the most common being HEPA air purifiers. Most people purchase air purifiers to improve the air quality in their homes and reduce allergens, harmful particles or odors. Air purifiers are especially important to people who suffer from asthma, allergies, or other sensitivities to air pollutants. Choosing the right air purifier can be difficult, but, by understanding key differences, individuals can make educated decisions based on their unique needs. Air Purifiers America provides reviews and tests on which air purifiers and filters for air purifiers are best for you.
The HEPA air purifiers we offer remove the large particles such as dust and pollen as well as smaller particles such as mold, animal dander, and house dust mites. A HEPA air filter is essential in trapping these types of particles and removing them from your environment. Regular replacement of the HEPA air filter ensures optimal performance of your air purifier as well as extends the life of your air purifier. Some air purifiers feature a UV light to eliminate airborne bacteria and viruses reducing the spread of influenza, tuberculosis and measles.
Whirlpool Whispure AP51030S air purifier
The Whirlpool Whispure AP51030S air purifier is an updated version of the Whispure 450 model. The cooper hunter ch was a solid performer, so as testing began we wondered how the Whispure 510 would stack up. It turns out the 510 is a nearly identical version of the 450, with one important improvement: The 510 is considerably larger. Why is this important? The larger the air purifier, the greater the area it can purify. Plus, more powerful models typically offer better results.
The slim-line Whispure weighs just 25 pounds. It uses a true HEPA filter to trap dust, dander and pollen as air passes through the unit. In front of the HEPA filter, a carbon filter traps odors and large particles. Both filters are surrounded by a grill designed to keep the largest particles from entering the air purifier. This grill also extends the life of the interior filters. We especially like the Whirlpool's control panel and control options. The integrated panel features electronic controls and a child lockout to prevent unwanted changes. We also were able to program our preferences, which is a nice feature.
Unlike most models, which offer two speeds, the Whispure has four fan speeds. This is important to note because the higher the speed, the noisier the unit. For example, you can run the Whispure on high only during times when you're not in the room or when pet dander is an issue. The slower fan speeds are still effective, but aren't as noisy, allowing us to easily carry on a quiet conversation near the air purifier.
The Whirlpool Whispure AP51030S is a powerful and effective air purifier. It has more speeds than most models, yet performs quietly most of the time. Its attractive slim design in a white-on-white style doesn't take up much room. Best yet, it is priced far less than other models we've tested that don't work quite as well. This puts the Whirlpool Whispure at the top of our list.
