NOS Vintage Hoover Convertible Vault 1975 Metal Vacuum Cleaner MINT
Up for auction is a very unusual piece from the Hoover Company North Canton, Ohio. It is a model U4071 made in 1975 for the Sony Corporation. This one is number 1001 meaning that it was the first one off of the line (Did they even make more after this one??? I have NEVER seen another one!). It has the usual metal chasis, two speed motor, and metal agitator (with beige bristles). It runs beautifully and has that nice Hoover sound. It has a new belt installed, and the bearings were greased. The overall condition of the machine is new except for the handle grip which has some tape residue that I did not want to chance removing. It is very unusal in the fact that it has a label below the handle grip shown in the pictures, and it has a very unusual cord and plug arrangement. It has a larger diameter cord and a flat plug with no cord clip. Again this was built for Sony to their specs. It uses type C bags that are readily available. There is not a mark on the paint or hood. It is in remarkable condition. The bag and zipper are flawless. Check out the pictures. Bid with confidence. You will not be disappointed.
